About
Thanks for visiting.
I'm Helen. I'm 35. I like poetry, drinking tea, op-shop frocks, silver shoes, The Ramones, found objects, snail mail, chocolate fish, hot baths with patchouli oil, doodling, hair-clips, crisp white envelopes, peppery herbs, inky pens, red lipstick, singing into my hairbrush, knitting, reading biographies (taking notes on How To Be Famous), The Smiths, warm shortbread, my strawberry patch, stripy socks and best of all, my sons Willoughby and Magnus, who shows me how to be a good person.
I like to make things and do art and write poetry and fiction. I make my living selling things I make and teaching creative writing at university.
I love to get comments on my blog - I wish I could reply to all of them, but it isn't possible. Please do say hello though, because comments make me smile and think and feel like my site is truly interactive! Your thoughts on my daily rambles mean a lot to me and make my working-from-home existence more fun.
Wishing you cupcakes and fresh flowers on your table and a good, warm-hearted day.
Please e-mail me.
