a breather very soon…
Has my blog seemed a little nutty lately?
I’ve certainly been feeling that way.
I think I have a combination of work fatigue and cabin fever - easy to get when you work from home, when your dining room is your office and when your ‘clients’ can access you 24/7 via email and phone. Anyway, I have an intense five days of face-to-face teaching coming up....last push...last push...but then, but then...it’s the school holidays and I’m going to a certain popular lakeside resort town where my parent have semi-retired to, to enjoy the sleep-ins, babysitting and fireside knitting and tea-sipping that a long visit with my folks enables. I can’t wait. Whew.
(The house above is not my parents place, it’s a picture out of a magazine of the south of France, but y’know - dreams are free.)
But that’s a couple of weeks away yet.
In the mean time - I’ve started a new art-journal around craft/art dolls and the ideas are flowing :: I’m knitting another baby hat - sea-green + some greeny pinky hand-dyed wool :: I’ve been making the most of soup season - leek and potato, pumpkin and corn, tomato and red bean :: VERY excited to find another Michael Gondry/Laura Faggionni collaboration - this time for NEW ZEALAND band, Steriogram - I really don’t like the song at all, but watch it for the incredible knitteds and crocheteds and miles and miles of wool! whoop! :: in love in love with Casiotone For the Painfully Alone - I adore geeky boys so much :: it’s late, I know, but I’ve been putting tulip, hyacinth and daffodil bulbs around the yard :: favourite tea lately - Black Adder Licorice :: and I went and bought some $25 industrial shelving for my studio, so although I haven’t had time to be out there making, I’ve been loving popping out for a ‘visit’ and stroking my piles of fabric and jars of buttons and pottles of paint…
See? I have to look harder at the moment, but there is still some goodness going on…
