:bee scarf:
I am rather enamoured with bees. I love them lolling about in the garden. I think if I ever got a tattoo, it would be a bee.
A long while ago I found some stretch fabric in an op shop with very realistic bees all over it. I planned and still plan to make some PJ pants for Magnus with the bulk of it, but I was gazing at it recently and decided I’d like a little of it for myself. So I went in search of some striped (because anything bee-themed demands a stripe, right?) knit fabric with a good drape - yes, I actually paid retail for it! - and sewed myself this bee scarf. First I hand-appliqued the bees, then machine-sewed the scarf. Two layers of the knit to give the scarf a little shape and substance.
It only took a couple of hours from go to woah, which is a nice antidote to some of the longer term knitting, writing and hand-sewing projects I’ve been beavering away at with little discernible progress.
