glorious

image

(Does anyone recognise the mosaic? It’s in a reasonably well-trodden Wellington location...)

Guess what? I’ve been very kind to myself over the last week.

After that grizzly post last week about expectations etc - because it’s the holidays, I have dispensed of my to-do lists and had the only focus of my day to be doing things with the kids.

+ if anything gets done on top of that - it’s a cherry on top.

We’ve done lots of crafty things, kitcheny things, written cards and letters, had play dates with friends, read lots of books and I’ve played many games of checkers with Willoughby.

It’s been lovely and I’ve even gotten a whole lot of gardening done while the kids play outside. I’ve really enjoyed the more leisurely mornings - not having to rush around to get to school and Playcentre.

Helen say:
With children - expect lots - achieve little - feel frustrated.
Therefore - With children - expect little - achieve more - feel content.

(Beat that, Confucius!)

I haven’t seen the Glory mosiac, but the colourful house and surroundings looks vaguely like Newtown. Don’t tell me you live just down the road from me??? If so, we have to hang sometime! (If not, we still have to hang sometime!)

It’s amazing what engaging your children does for their behaviour… I really should take something from that instead of getting annoyed with the Devil Child trying to play with me. hehe
