:stripy sock photo of the week:

image

I think why I liked this one is fairly self-explanatory - it’s bright, it’s very silly and her socks with matching top + shiny red clogs are very cool. (Dunno about the dress and hat, though!) It’s also from 1972 - the year of my birth (yes - twenty and teen-something friends, I really am THAT OLD.)

I think a large part of my stripy sock love comes from my 1970s childhood - I wore stripy knee socks with devotion from 1975-1980 - I only stopped when metallic socks came in in the 80s and it started to be all about the glitter.

This fantastic photo is from the fantastic crafty queen Drewzel - check out her photostream for many a crafty delight. Thanks, Steph for the lend of the photo!

oh my flippin goodness - that is very sweet.

I used to love this magaine when I was about 9-13. I got every issue. Maybe explains my magazine fetish (not Dolly anymore honest). Did you know there is a new N mag out called NO. I grabbed issue one but I haven’t read it yet. I’m hoping for pretty dresses and such.

xx

i’m still older than you!

i never wore striped socks in the seventies. my mom was all about making me look like an old fashioned girl. i wore aprons and tights and culottes…

love the idea of matching socks and shirt...too fun!
