a colourful life
Dear people who painted their house in primary colours amidst a sea of grey and bland-
Thank you for doing this. Your house sings and zings and asserts itself happy in a world of gloom.
Your house says “wake up! lighten up! smile and keep walking by with a bounce in your step.”
And I did smile when I walked past your house and I like to visit your house when I’m in your neighbourhood, which is my dear friend’s neighbourhood.
And may your house never get sold to people who think they have to worry about “resale” and “fitting in with the neighbours” and paint your happy walls various shades of biscuit, tea and magnolia.
(Not that I have anything against Magnolias.)
xx Helen

yeah, what a truly ace house! i can’t stand ticky-tacky uniformity. those new, ugly subdivisions popping up around nz are imagination death traps. you have an eye for beauty helen!

I am reading a book right now where the characters live in a flamingo pink house and during my morning reading session today I just learned the reason behind the mysterious color choice. 30 minutes later I read this post, I think someone is trying to tell me something??? should I be painting right now???
great post helen! I love seeing things through your eyes.
