bright style
I found these twelve squares of bright crocheted goodness at the op-shop recently. The colours make me so happy. It’s crying out to be made into a little clutch purse - it just needs some lining and a zip.
I can intellectually appreciate minimalism - that style which is all about neutrals, black and white and grey...but emotionally...spiritually...colour makes me happy.
I prefer houses with character, with old things, objects with stories behind them, wabi-sabi, the beauty of the worn and the battered.
One of my friends almost shudders when he visits - I can see him mentally de-cluttering my surfaces as he sips his tea...we affectionately tease one another about our disparate styles, but I like the quirky little objects gleaned from op shops and junk shops, handed down from family, gifted from friends.
I guess I’m more Bloomsbury Group than Urban Minimalism.
Anyway, not sure where that rant came from - except that this is a new colourful thing in my life - and it makes me grin to look at it’s obnoxious colour.
