:brooches and baby breakfast:

image

Here are some other simple brooches I made for the Fair. This time out of the scraps from my doll dresses - I often make their dresses out of felted wool jerseys. (Sorry about the less-than-artful photographs - took them late at night when it’s impossible to get a well-lit shot.)

I thought these were sort of autumnal.

And for those of you who don’t find “cute stories about my kids” too sickly sweet - here is what happens when Fraser and I stay up too late watching episodes of ‘Flight of the Conchords’ and then find it hard to rise at 6.30 a.m. to make the children breakfast.

The seven year old is capable of cooking his own toast now - whoop! But the three year old has to be a little more inventive. I found him on the bench eating his brother’s burnt toast crusts and helping himself to dry cornflakes.

Does this constitute child abuse? smile

How else would kiddos learn independence if it wasn’t for a little bit of neglect now and then? I firmly stand by my ‘hands off’ parenting style as I am raising a very self sufficient young lady. She can now help herself to a bowl of icecream when I am not looking - very handy should I ever be incapacitated by one means or another.

And cool brooches smile

fantastic brooches- i love them! they would indeed cheer up a winter coat. the picture of magnus makes me laugh- i’m all for ‘hands-off parenting’ too… especially if it means you can squeeze in some more FOTC goodness.
