:fabric flowers:
I ran a craft stall at the Kindy fair last weekend - they sold stall spaces for a donation of your earnings - and as the fair fell in a week where we were all stricken with ‘flu, I needed to make something which I could sit and do at the table around the children - which meant no machine sewing.
So I got out my fabric scrap bag and - with the help of several episodes of the fabulous This American Life sewed up a bunch of fabric flower brooches.
When I first did craft fairs a couple of years ago - I was mad for these and made dozens, then got very sick of them and thought I’d never make another - but somehow, last week - I fancied them again. Maybe because autumn is here, and they do cheer-up a cardigan or winter jacket. Also, it’s another one of those projects which uses up scraps - and I’m always into that...thrifty to the nth degree.
I ended up deciding to keep this green and red one - I have a red velvet winter coat which I think will look even better with this happy addition.
