::gratuitous cute photographs of boys and chickens::

We’re thinking of getting chickens because we enjoy ‘chicken-sitting’ our friend’s chickens so much, when we house sit for him.

At the moment we are pet-free, so going away is very simple. I’m a little nervous of the commitment having animals will mean. I find it hard enough to look after the kids.

But I do like the sight of wee boys in red pyjamas hanging out with chickens. And skinny bigger boys in superhero suits, too.

Hey! That’s my garden! Those are my chickens! Who said you could let them out? Do you know what a little freedom does to a chicken? It drives her crazy!

If you’re set on getting some yourself, you know we could always look after them when you go away ... safely cooped up, of course.
