:Joe’s seaweed:
My friend Joe is studying postgrad seaweed. Well - it’s not called that exactly, but as he spends a lot of his time traveling the coasts of NZ and Australia gathering and observing seaweed - this is how I think of it.
When I was last at his house, his dining table was covered with these samples of tiny little seaweeds, pressed on to watercolour paper. I thought they were rather beautiful and thought you might enjoy seeing them, too. They are very small - a little bigger than a 50 cent coin.
They look like tiny trees.
And it also says something about our ability to ‘see’, or not. Joe finds these beauties in the same oceans that I visit - but I’ve never noticed a baby seaweed - have you?

the red one is so pretty and so very tree like and autumnal.

I love your code thingees - today it’s telling me I’m 32. So happy with that…

I love love love the little bits of seaweed. Would make for a seriously gorgeous print for fabric.
I am contemplating cool tattoos (too scared to actually ever get one) and I think the dark red one would look awesome on a bod somewhere.

I love that you thought we would enjoy seeing these gems. Beautiful and ethereal. I only wish I wasn’t land locked and could see these too! Thanks for sharing.
