:new red shoes:

image

I bought these sandals in a sale for $30 in June (mid-winter!)…

I knew I wouldn’t get to wear them for months, but they were such a bargain and so very summery and delicious and I have enjoyed looking at them, sitting on my bookshelf for the last eight weeks or so.

I feel ready to wear them now though, and to wear cotton skirts with bare legs, and to have to put sunscreen on again, and to be able to have picnics on the lawn, and for evenings where it is light later than 5.30pm.

Meanwhile, it continues to rain...and my backyard is a bog and I have worn various shades of brown, grey and black for weeks.

So I thought I’d share my ‘summer fantasy’ shoes with you today...for one simple pair of shoes, these hold a whole lot of promise.

Hah.  Great.  I actually wore today for the very first time in a long long time a cotton skirt with bare legs underneath (although that is a slight misconception - I sort of snuck on a pair of stripy rugby socks too) but didn’t have full wooly stockings or trousers or anything and stayed comfortable all day.  Admittedly I do have my own personal hot water bottle growing in my belly so maybe my sense of warm is all wacked up.  But there was definately some sunshine and most of the puddles on the drive have dried up so there is hope hope hope. Hope you get to wear your shoes sooner than you think.

These shoes have cheered me up no end!

I am so sick of my thermals and the two pairs of shoes I have that don’t have holes in them.

Puddle. Puddle.

They are so perfect for summer. Here it is winding down down down and I’m starting to think of things to wear for fall.

Here in Chch when the weather is bad, everyone seems to wear black. I like black myself, but when you look around on a dreary day and everyone is wearing it, it’s, well, dreary. I’ve been wearing pink tights to make up for it, and teh winter coat I bought this year wasn’t black; it was red.
