petal scoffer
I like to eat flowers.
Nasturtiums (good and peppery), pansies (like lettuce), marigold petals (very slightly sweet), borage flowers floating in drinks, mint flowers, scented geraniums, a scattering of lavender petals (strong, almost minty), strawberry flowers on cupcakes.
This is the perfect vegan sandwich - homemade sunflower seed and sundried tomato tapenade, hummus, marigold petals and lemon basil.
But really, it isn’t much about the flavour and more about
a) being obsessed with eating of much of the stuff I grow as I can, and
b) because it’s kind of witchy and pleasing.

Oh yum! I’m with you, flowers in food make eating such a glorious experience. There’s almost something childlike about it, you know, mud pies with petals on top and all that good stuff. I’m sure your cupcakes taste WAY better than mud pies!!!

Holy Moly those look delicious! There’s a great vegan chocolate cake recipe on the blog below that I’ve used before and that is super delicious. Thanks for the blog break (I was writing an editorial on cash flow before this).
