:some belated thank yous:

image

Helen made this postcard for me - it made me smile. I have rather a thing for tea and tea cups.

I cannot express enough how wonderful my ‘online community’ are - by that I mean the friends and sure-to-be friends-when-we-finally-get-to-meet who I have made through the internet, blogs and craft fairs. You know who you are, and please also know this: You are amazing! I am grateful to have encountered you all. You all inspire me in copious and different ways, and you make being an at-home Mama so much fun. (Imagine being an at-home Mama pre-internet. Argh!)

So that was a general thank you, and I wanted to say a couple of more specific thank yous for things which have come my way recently:

I did a great swap with Helen and she sent me a box of goodness indeed, which I filed away to the four corners of the house before I remembered to take a picture! But amongst the goodies were the lovely art postcard above and one of her beautiful vintage kimono fabric badges. (Below left.) Helen’s brooches are really well-made - you can buy them at her Felt Shop. Thanks, Helen!

And that photo above right leads me to another big thank you to Michelle - we did a swap and I feel I rather got the best end of the deal. She does beautiful free-form crochet work (among many other things) and I am rather in love with this necklace. I couldn’t get a good photo of in on me (sorry generally for today’s photos - I’m having camera and computer issues), but see Michelle’s photo below for details of how amazing this piece is. Her etsy shop - ‘small white pebble’ is here.

And finally, I entered a competition on Gillybean’s blog and was lucky enough to win this beautiful retro fabric bag:

Gilly’s seamstress skills are enviable - she sewed the handles in leather! I felt very lucky indeed to win the competition - thanks, Gilly!

There is so much wonderful creativity out there - I’m honoured to be amongst it all through this forum, and through my ‘IRL’ life.

Lovely girl - I too have a thing for tea. I have a patch you made “drink tea daily” that I am going to put on a top when I learn to sew! Or perhaps applique it on a skirt? Oh, I can’t wait to be a goddess at sewing and make my own lovely threads…
