sunny day wishes
(Photo borrowed from here - nice recipe there, too.)
The sun is out! The sun is out!
I’ve had to be such a grown-up lately. I have a diary bulging with important bits of paper that need following up. My to-do list runs a mile. My children, each in their own way, have needed a lot of me - more than usual.
I’m a little weary of it all & when the sun shines like it does today, suggesting that maybe...just maybe spring is around the corner - here is my fantasy to-do list - much more fun than my real one.
EXTREMELY IMPORTANT THINGS TO DO WHILE THE SUN SHINES AND THE FANCY TAKES ME
-go to the Asian food shop and buy green tea powder for making curious cakes.
-sit at a garden-table at the Herb Farm Cafe, drinking a chai and writing a snail mail letter to someone dear
-take my shoes and socks off and walk my pale winter feet across the grass
-sew a springy dress out of the wonderful strawberry fabric my friend gave me
-get some healing: massage or therapy or something else good
-find smelly spring flowers to put in a vase - early cheer, hyacinths
-write some poems that are not a) angsty b) gloomy c) intense. (Am I even capable of that? Hee!)
-throw a tea for two in the Esplanade with my beloved - with real china tea cups and fresh scones
-get off the computer and out into it
